Alumni Involvement

Alumni of Applied Health Sciences returned to campus for Homecoming in October of 2006, where they enjoyed food and fellowship before the football game. Many thanks to the AHS Student Council for their assistance in making the event such a success.

Staying connected…

Graduates of PEW class of 1972 recently reunited to celebrate 33 years of friendship along the Pacific Coast in Oregon. From left to right. Karen Stahl Beauprie, Carolyn Bechly, Linda Raap McClenahan, Marilyn Minneman, Patty Seghers, Lyndell Wilken, Hilary Carlson, Marilyn Rueter Gorney, and Jean Snuggs.

After nearly 40 years of friendship, four alumnae of the former speech pathology and audiology department decided the time was ripe to make more memories together. This summer, from left, Judi Landfield Lieberman ’67 LAS, AM ’68 LAS; L. Karen Darner ’67 LAS, AM ’68 LAS; Maxine Shizuru McGinnis ’67 LAS; and Tanya Montaleone Gallagher ’67 LAS, AM ’70 LAS, PHD ’71 LAS, dean of the College of Applied Health Sciences, took a cruise from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico. “We were all celebrating major birthdays and also needed some time together to catch up without having to do the dishes or be a hostess to the group,” Darner said. “It was fun, it was great – and people were thrilled that we wore orange.”

“Students really appreciate the involvement of AHS alumni. They have so much to offer in terms of practical advice and are wonderful role models for those of us who are about to enter the job market.”

--Natalie Arp, Class of 2005

“Career Night reminds me of the future of our profession and how very important it is to invest in that future by giving back to today’s students whenever possible.”

--Laura Kann (BS ’82, MS ’83) Branch Chief, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
